Arizona Solo Trip Day 3 (Sedona, Fay Canyon Arch Trail, Jerome, Goldfield, and Scottsdale )

Day 3 of my solo trip in Arizona began early with a 5:00 AM sunrise hike in Sedona. One of the main reasons I picked the Hotel Arabella was because of the access to hiking trails. If you’ve been to Sedona, you know that parking at trail heads can be like the wild west. I was so lucky that not only was it just a mile hike out to a beautiful spot near Snoopy Rock for sunrise, but that I saw not one other person on the trail the entire time. While popular trails are popular for a reason, I really have enjoyed going on some of the less popular trails in areas where you can just enjoy nature on your own. This sunrise hike was one of those moments.

Arizona Solo Trip Day 2 (Bright Angel Trail, South Kaibab Trail, Wupatki, Sunset Crater, & Sedona )

After an adventurous Day 1 on my solo trip in Arizona, I was ready to get a start on Day 2. I woke up around 5:30 AM so I could watch the sunrise over the Grand Canyon. Since my cabin was only 20 or so yards from the edge, I got up and started down the Bright Angel Trail before the sunrise.

Bucket List Hikes (Southwest)

While 12 days is a decent amount of time for a trip, we covered about 3000 miles so we weren’t able to get to all the hiking we would have liked. There were some hikes we cut due to time or others we didn’t even know about prior to getting to the locations. Because we loved our time in the Southwest and plan to visit again, we started to list our must do hikes for our next adventure through these beautiful states which you can find below.

Southwest Road Trip (Where We Would Have Spent More Time + Places To Visit Next Trip)

While that post shares all the things we got to do, I thought it would be fun to share some other things about that trip here. That includes the “We wish we had more time in….” list as well as the “Next time we want to visit….” list.
