8 Lessons from Our First Year of Camping
I dreamed of getting a camper since I stayed in an Airstream in Salida, Colorado on a solo road trip back in 2019. Three years later, my dream of purchasing a camper came true. While it wasn’t the Airstream Bambi I had been dreaming about, it’s perfect for Teddy and I in this season of life.
17 Day Alaska Summer Road Trip Itinerary
In June of 2023, Teddy and I got married in Alaska and had a two week road trip exploring what we were able to in the state for our honeymoon. Alaska is so large that we barely scratched the surface, but we wanted to share what we did so that as you plan your own trip, you can choose what to include in your own itinerary!
Our Last Day in Alaska (Alyeska + Byron Glacier)
On the last day of our Alaska wedding and honeymoon, we drove from Homer to Anchorage. Our flight was very early the next morning so we found a few stops along the way to make the most of the 4+ hour drive. Our first stop however was one we didn’t plan ahead of time and included some flashing lights.
2 Days in Homer, Alaska
After our whirlwind bear viewing and fishing adventure in Soldotna, Teddy and I made the 2 hour drive south to Homer. This was really the last leg of our trip in Alaska so we had booked a lodge that had everything we could have asked for and more including a hot tub, a balcony, and the most beautiful mountain and bay views.
Our Bear & Fishing Tour That Didn’t Go As Planned
After our 2 days in Seward, Teddy and I headed to the Soldotna/Kenai area for our next adventure. This is the one thing Teddy had on his “must do” list for our trip. I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to make it happen, but the weather cooperated and Teddy (and I) had the experience of a lifetime.
2 Days in Seward, Alaska (+ Itinerary)
We woke up early and checked out and drove an hour to Seward. We booked a boat tour that would take us through Kenai Fjords National Park which began around 10 am. We booked the tour that ended with dinner on Fox Island. The entire tour was about 8.5 hours and I’d definitely do it again if I went back. We got to see so much sea life and a tidewater glacier!
5 Days Itinerary for Palmer, Alaska [Coffee, Hiking, Dining, Glacier Views, & Lodging]
When planning our wedding and honeymoon in Alaska, Teddy and I planned to spend 5 days in the Palmer area. The main reason for this is that it was close to where we’d depart from for our wedding on a glacier, but also because of it’s central location to so many things to do.
During our time in Palmer, we were able to do a good bit of exploring. Based on what we did and what we wish we would have had time for, I put together a 5 day itinerary for your time in the area.
Northern Arizona Road Trip [5 Day Itinerary]
In April I took my first solo trip in a over two years. I wasn’t sure exactly where I wanted … More
