Earlier this year, I booked a trip to go to Texas and New Mexico to explore the National Parks. Something came up when I was to originally take the trip, so I had to postpone it to later in the year.
December ended up being a great time to visit. There weren’t many visitors to the National Parks, and the weather was beautiful. I spent four days exploring three National Parks and a few small towns in Texas.

Day 1:
- Flight from Tampa to Midland/Odessa Airport in Texas
- Stocked up on snacks and water at Target
- Drove about 3 hours down to Big Bend
- Explored the North and East side of Big Bend
- Checked into La Posada Milagro in Terlingua
- Dinner at Taqueria El Milagro







Day 2:
- Breakfast at Espresso Y Poco Mas
- Spent the morning exploring the West portion of the Big Bend
- Lunch in Chisos Basin
- Spent the afternoon in Chisos Basin
- Dinner in Terlingua at the Starlight Theater
- Stayed a second night at La Posada Milagro in Terlingua






















Day 3:
- Checked out and headed toward Guadalupe Mountains National Park
- Stopped in Alpine and Marfa along the way w/ short hike
- Snack at Do Your Thing Coffee
- Guadalupe Mountains National Park
- Carlsbad, New Mexico Vista
- Dinner at Red Chimney Pit Bar-B-Que
- Stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suits in Carlsbad














Day 4:
- Drove to Carlsbad Caverns
- Hiked down into and through the caverns
- Lunch at the National Park
- 3 Hours to Midland / Odessa Airport
