Join the Atlas Book Club
In 2023 I had considered doing some type of book club to start out the year but decided to just pick a book a month and read it for myself to start. Now, in 2024 I’ve decided to actually start the book club. While I think fiction books can be a fun escape and entertaining, I wanted to do a non fiction book club to focus on the learning and application to life. So here’s are the details on the book club for next year.

Guide
If you’re wondering how to “join” the book club or what the purpose is, here are my intentions for it –
- To “join” you just have to decide if you’d like to participate. While I’d love for you to tell me or send me a DM, I’m happy if you just decide to be along for the ride
- You can read just 1 book or all 12. If you read all 12 with me, I think there should be a reward. I’ll think on that. No pressure however many you choose.
- My accountability is to write a blog post sharing my experience with the book as I read it. While I hope they’re all incredible reads, I’ll be honest with what I share on here.
- I’ll also share some takeaways throughout each month on Instagram.
- There may be more fun adds as the year goes on but for now, the focus is on a no pressure, just for fun, join for what you’d like book club. My hope is that if you join, you learn something. That’s it.
Book Club Picks
All are non fiction books that I haven’t read before. I tried to cover a variety of topics that are interesting to me – God, productivity, mindset, rest, personal growth, writing, community, history, and more.
- January – 10 Words to Live By by Jen Wilkin
- February – Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman
- March – Don’t Give Up Just Yet by Nick Connolly
- April – Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty
- May – Tired of Being Tired by Jess Connolly
- June – Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte
- July – Trail of Tears by John Ehle
- August – Unoffendable by Brandt Hansen
- September – Speak by Tunde Oyeneyin
- October – The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker
- November – Mind Your Mindset by Micheal Hyatt & Megan Hyatt Miller
- December – Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott
Finding the Books
You don’t have to buy these books to read them. There’s some free options as well as paid options below both for audio and written books.
- Local library request – If you don’t already have a library card, get one. Then see if your library has the physical book to borrow for free.
- Libby App – This is also through the library and free but you can find audio and physical books on here.
- Hoopla – Another one through the library. There’s a limit to the amount of borrows per month but another free version that has both physical and audiobook.
- Spotify Premium – They newly have audiobooks on here and a huge selection. I’m a big fan.
- Audible – Paid audiobooks that you can buy as desired or through a subscription.
- Amazon – You can buy the actual physical book if you’d like at whatever price or on Kindle.
- Thrift Books – If the book is a bit older, you can find it for a better price than Amazon for about half the price. It just takes a bit longer to ship.
- Kindle Unlimited – If you already pay for this, some of the books may be listed here.
- Borrow It – See if a friend or family member already has the book and will loan it out.
- Find It Locally – Or check out a small bookshop near you and see if they have it or can order it
If you’re joining the book club for any and all months and want to share, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to comment here or message me on @SheMakesHerOwnAdventure!
Looking forward to you joining the roadmap to learning this year!
