When Teddy and I were first preparing to camp with Bailey, and then with both dogs, I was trying to figure out what would be helpful to purchase or how to best set up for the dogs. I didn’t find as many helpful tips online as I had hoped which is why I wrote this blog. My intention is to give ideas and tips for someone who’s looking to camp with their dogs for the first time or just in general. What works for our dogs may not work for yours so take what’s helpful and leave what’s not.
I dreamed of getting a camper since I stayed in an Airstream in Salida, Colorado on a solo road trip back in 2019. Three years later, my dream of purchasing a camper came true. While it wasn’t the Airstream Bambi I had been dreaming about, it’s perfect for Teddy and I in this season of life.
Teddy and I both agreed that this was one of our favorite camping trips so far. We got to take both dogs, explore a National Military Park and learn about the history, go on a few hikes, enjoy the campfire and s’mores, the weather was beautiful and we got to have some great conversation.
