7 Steps for Setting Goals That Matter with Your Spouse

About two months after Teddy and I met, the new year rolled around. I remember sitting in Teddy’s truck out for a scenic drive when I asked him about his goals for the past year and any he had in the upcoming year. He was a bit surprised. This wasn’t something he regularly had thought about and planned out prior. I started being more intentional about my goals about 10 years ago and so what was a routine process for me wasn’t for him. This was the first of many conversations over the last four years where we talk about our dreams, reflect on our progress, and plan for the future. If you’re looking for a simple framework for setting goals with your spouse or partner, you’re in the right place.

9 Best Books I Read in 2023 + 12 Books I Pre-Ordered for 2024

If I had a reading era, it would be this year. I read more books this year than any other year I since I’ve started tracking it. I read new authors and new genres. I got back into visiting the physical library which I really hadn’t done since I lived in Florida. I checked out books with ugly covers (a huge win for me) and benefitted from the excellent content inside. I read some books solo, while others were with a team or group or with my husband. I read on planes, by the pool, among the corn fields, and at home on my couch. Of all the books I read this year, there were a few that have really stuck with me.

Why 8 Hours of Sleep Is Such A Big Deal

Going a week and a half straight on seven hours of sleep per night produces the same test results as 24 hours with zero sleep. If someone is awake for 19 hours straight, they are as impaired as someone legally drunk. After only four hours of sleep, a driver is six times more likely to run his car off the road than someone who had 8 hours of sleep.

These are just a few statistics about sleep that Nate Dallas shares in his book, “You’re Too Good to Feel this Bad”. From topics on sleep, breathing, exercise, mindset, medication, work, money, and more, Nate covers various areas of life where he believes that “you’re too good to feel this bad and you know it”.
